Parent, Carer & Student Information

At Gamlingay Village Primary we want to make sure you have all the information you need to ensure your child’s progression, happiness and safety. In this section of our website you will find a host of information to explore - from a breakdown of our curriculum to key policies, uniform, catering and information on the tools we use to enhance your child’s learning experience.

The school day

A typical school week is 32.5 hours. The school day officially begins at 08:45. It is parental responsibility to ensure their child reaches their classroom. The school day officially ends at 15:15. ​Children in EYFS-Y4 are released to a named adultChildren in Year 5 & 6 are allowed to leave independently (as are Year 4 in the Summer Term). Staff members will wait with the children should they wish to wait for parents.

Key Stage 2 children who are going to after school Wrap Around Care (WAC) can make their own way but Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children will be escorted by a member of the staff. A register is taken at WAC.

Staff will take "late-collection children" to the School Office 10 minutes after the end of the day. Adults who are late collecting their children must collect from the School Office.
